Bac Lieu People's Committee has approved the overall compensation and resettlement assistance for the project of building the new residential area in Ward 7, Bac Lieu town. The project has a scale of 70 hectares with the total investment of 500 billion VND and is expected to be completed within 5 years (2009-2014).

This project will build over 3,000 apartments. In particular, 491 apartments are for the low-income people and the households with resettlement needs when they have to  move away to prepare for the construction of the key projects in Bac Lieu.
